This is the first Peachick we have hatched this year, I beleive it is a Black-shouldered Peachick although we are unsure as the egg that hatched was purchased from Busbridge lakes in Godalming, Surrey and they keep many different colours running free together.. |

"Rachel"
The chick is being reared along with two Lady-Amhust Pheasant chicks that hatched a few day before, as Peachicks can be a nightmare to rear as they need training when it comes down to feeding. The two Lady Amhurst chicks, are an ideal way of teaching the Peachicks to feed as they copy the other chicks when they feed and drink.

29/06/04 - The chick is growing well and has now got some brown colouring on it's wings, it also has it's crest coming through...

Brooder
This is my home made brooder, with a heat lamp to keep the chicks warm. It has shavings on the floor to prevent the chicks slipping and enough space for the chicks to get away from the heat lamp if they wish. |
